The Cannibal Revolution

It's been clear since 1879 that revolutions eat their own.

Towards the end of the Terror in 1794, revolutionary leaders such as Georges DantonSaint-Just and Maximilien Robespierre were sent to the guillotine.

It now seems that the Squad is turning on themselves.

When President-Elect Biden is removed from office sometime during the first year by use of the 25th Amendment, President Harris will face increasing calls to institutionalize the Democrats Socialist platform.

GOOGLE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND – IT’S A TOOL

On December 14, 2020, a large portion of Google including Mail and the Google Office Suite went down for almost an hour across the world.

They dropped Reader a few years ago and are changing the storage limits on Google Photos. Picassa is no longer with us.

Google is free but that means, Google can giveth and Google can take it.

This is the reason I prefer to have my tools and data stored locally versus in the cloud.

November 23 was International Backup Day. Backup your Google files to preserve them.

Visit this page to start the process. It’s free.

The end of Independent Schooling coming soon to the USA.

The end of Independent Education - Coming soon to the USA.

The Front Runners for the position of Secretary of the Department of Education are both Teacher Union Executive (NEA and AFT).

Both are avowed opponents of Charter Schools, especially those outsides of their control.

If they are approved by the Senate, there probably be an immediate review of Charter School performance with the standards being higher than those applied to Union Controlled Schools.

After this battle or maybe concurrently, Home Schooling will come under review as well.

Germany currently outlaws  Home Schooling unless a certified teacher is in the home. Otherwise every student must spend time in an institutional environment. Expect the DoE to exert more control over all students and especially home schools.

It starts with one voice.

The Reverend Warnock, Reverend Wright and Reverend Cone

The Reverend Warnock (in a runoff for the US Senate in Georgia) and currently the Senior Pastor for MLK’s Ebenezer Baptist Church has cited several influencers for his life and philosophy.

Two are the Reverend Jeremiah Wright (President Obama’s Minister) and Reverend James Hal Cone (Warnock’s academic adviser at Union Theological Seminary)

Reverend Wright is infamous for his sermon condemning America (“not ‘God bless America,’ God damn America!).

The Reverend Cone from his book “A Black Theology of Liberation.”:

“There will be no peace in America until white people begin to hate their whiteness, asking from the depths of their being: ‘How can we become black?'

“We have reached our limit of tolerance, and if it means death with dignity, or life with humiliation, we choose the former. And if that is the choice, we will take out some honkies with us.”

The Reverend Warnock said this of Cone in his 2018 eulogy for the preacher: “How blessed we are that someone of the spiritual magnitude and power and commitment of Dr. James Hal Cone passed our way

Since the Reverend Warnock claims as a spiritual mentor a Pastor who advocates a race war, can we ascribe the same beliefs to him as well.

Fifty Eight years after Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream” speech, Reverend Warnock seems to be, spiritually, 180 Degrees from that philosophy.

Joe Biden is 77.

Dr. Emanuel is an oncologist and bioethicist who will be having input into end-of-life regulations for COVID-19.

The New Normal Vs the Next Normal

New Normal or the Next Normal

Believe it or not, normal might be flexible and everchanging

After the Wuhan Flu “crisis”, new policies and beliefs came into play.  What was “normal” one day was not normal the next.

Before the NYC Subway Strike in 1980, women on the street would not be caught without wearing their dress heels.  During the strike, because of the distances they were having to walk, sneakers became the street shoe of choice (and comfort).  Heels were carried in their handbags and changed in the office.  After the strike, that became the new norm.  It also spread to other major cities without the need for a transit strike to start the trend.

Up until the late fifties and early sixties, men would never be seen outside without a hat. That was before the advent of the baseball cap as a head protector or a hat espousing a view or allegiance.  Several things probably prompted the change:

Transportation – men started spending more time in cars rather than walking.  It was also less comfortable to wear a hat while driving.

Hair Style Changes – It was uncommon until the 60’s to see men with long hair which needed styling.

Hair was kept short to stay neat under a hat.  The culture change in the 60’s not only loosened up fashion styles, but longer hair became the style among the younger generation.

Today the only hat you see me wearing is usually the baseball cap (which in earlier times was only worn by baseball players).  Men today wear a baseball cap for head protection or simply to use the logo or writing on the hat to proclaim a statement.

The new normal in mid-2020 will show some radical changes in social norms.

First it will not be uncommon to see most people wearing some type of mask.

Second, social distancing will rule.  Don’t come too close, don’t shake hands and the high five becomes an air five.

Third, gatherings will be smaller.  Groups now are “restricted” to no more than ten during the Wuhan Flu pandemic, some form of that will more than likely continue after the pandemic subsides.  This will be especially true for those most at risk – the elderly, frail, those with immune comprised systems, cardiac problems...

The “New” norm than becomes the “Next” norm.

NORMAL?

Normal?

Why should we be normal?  What is normal?  What is the New Normal?

Normal changes over time, events and circumstances.  What is normal today was not normal yesterday, last year or last century.

At point men and women would not think of leaving the house or going outside without a hat or a head covering.  Refer to movies even as late as the early sixties.  At some point, the culture drifted, so in today’s world, the new normal is men and women without hats.  It’s atypical for either sex to wear a non-functional hat.  Baseball caps seem to be the exception – they are more decorative than necessarily functional except as a sun visor or a sun blocker.

In New York City, no fashion-conscious female would be seen on the street without their high heels.  During the Transit Strikes, because they had to walk distances to their work, they would wear their athletic shoes on the street, replacing those shoes with the “normal” footwear – high heels.  Heels for women were usually mandated by an office dress code.

In this time of Work from Home, the dress code is more likely to be – just have clothes on. Forget the hats, high heels, suits, and ties.

In this time of normal:  Please wear clothes when you are video conferencing.

Wearing a hat is to make a statement or for protection.  Even though wearing a hat at the Kentucky Derby or the Royal Ascot is the appropriate dress – they are still created and worn as a statement.  The flashier and more absurd, the more likely they are to appear in the media.

Of course, bringing up the media means more change from normal.  Into the late 21st Century, your choices of media were limited, and the presentations were very structured.  If you wanted news, there was the paper newspaper delivered in the morning or in bigger cities, an afternoon edition.  The television delivered the news but only at a time of THEIR choosing, not ours.  “Breaking news – video at 11.”  Plus, there were only three channels to choose from.

Today, there is news on demand, the TV stations with newsrooms have extended their news broadcasts – In Atlanta, one station has morning news from 0430 to 1100.  Another has their “evening” news starting at 1630 and going to 2300.  And of course, there are the 24 Hour news networks.  All clamoring for your eyeballs and ears – they do still sell advertising as their main revenue source.
Just remember that NORMAL is relative.  But then again, why be NORML?
